About Me
I released my first website while I was studying at University of Western Sydney, Nepean in 1997. It was very beautiful -- bright yellow text on a background texture reminiscent of a crumpled red silk sheet. Magnificent.
My second website was just as revolutionary -- I didn't need standard menus at the top or left-hand side of the screen, my site needed a star layout where everything you can see is a link and you are free to explore at your whim!
From there I learned a thing or two about web usability and good practice, and started creating more conventional layouts that made sense to users as well as learning about how to make sites attractive to search engines.
In late 2000 when I started working for a Brisbane internet service provider and shortly after began studying towards a Bachelor of IT at Griffith University, my interest in website development, e-commerce and search engine optimisation grew and I started my own car enthusiast website which had reasonable success as a small content-driven website and as a revenue-generating platform for advertising.
Since then I have worked on several large websites including the newest iteration of suncorp.com.au, the content management system behind RSPCA QLD's website and the pet-finding capabilities of adoptapet, RSPCA Australia's animal adoption website.
